Region Elite Sports Banquet

The Region Elite Sports Banquet was a held on August 10, 2011 at Andorra Banquet in Sch'ville, Indiana.  The event was the Region's 1st annual event as 150 people made their way down Route 41.  It was an awesome display of professionalism to see our young men dressed up in nice suits more importantly facilitating the nights events.

The parents looked oh so sharp as the display beautiful dresses and silk suits electrified the facility.  WOW!!!  The evening was jumpstarted by the Master of Ceremony, "Dorian Harris."  This young man did a fantastic job as he facilitated the entire program.  BTW...Did I mention, He's only in the 3rd Grade and is a STRAIGHT A honor roll student.  Donavon Coles Jr. (6th Grade) opened the evening by blessing the event and the food.  Various players shared testimonials on their experience with playing with Region Elite.  Shammon Williams (4th Grade), Tyree Riley (3rd Grade), Martin Schiele (7th Grade) and Lawrence Mosely (8th Grade).  Jaelon Brooks (5th Grade) wrote and recited a poem entitled, "My Teammates" with the audience.

The highlite of the evening was the "coach impersonations" conducted by numerous players.  The impersonations was so good that it left the audience in tears as they laughed throughout show.  The event allowed the audience to see how gifted and talented these kids are... "This was a wonderful event and these kids are so talented... but you know what it also means, they were listening to their coaches, said Miss Rose."

All of the coaches had an opportunity to speak and share their testimonials prior to giving their players there medals. The event also paid tribute to those individuals who who accomplished academic success during the school year by making the honor roll.  Chris Grant, Educator in the Chicago School System, spoke to the audience about the importance of being a great student. Mr. Grant presented trophies to the kids for making the A B Honor Roll and special recognition was given to 6 individuals for making the straight A honor roll.

On behalf of all of our parents, friends, supporters and sponsors, I thank you for making our first season a huge success.  I also want thank all of the coaches who took the time to work with our youth.  I look forward to seeing all of you next season.
